Founded in 2000 by Antonia Lawrence Johnson, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, the Center for Talk Mastery has now proved that it can improve voice and speech through research-based and rigorously tested lessons. The Center's instruction is effective and affordable.
Dr. Antonia Lawrence Johnson completed her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at the University of Colorado-Boulder. She is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
Between 1996 and 2004, Dr. Antonia Lawrence Johnson taught graduate and undergraduate clinical courses at the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences Department at the University of Colorado-Boulder.
Antonia Lawrence Johnson's extensive training, experiece and research in speach and voice science and her specialization in speech intelligibility have resulted in Talk Mastery's success in providing efficient assessment and instruction/treatment for persons with a wide variety of intelligibility deficiences. Persons demonstrating dramatic improvement in their understandability include nonnative-born speakers of English and native speakers with speech intelligibility and/or voice problems.
Among those served are students, service providers, teachers, professional executives, homemakers and retired persons. The Center treats persons seeking improved speech who have neuromuscular disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson Disease, Fredrich's Ataxia and CVA (stroke), as well as persons who have a hearing impairment. The Center also treats persons with voice problems, such as vocal nodules, misuse of voice, VCD and voice modification for TG.
